Fındıklı is
a badly damaged Armenian garrison fortress.
The surviving south tower displays an unusual coat of arms carved on the
exterior masonry. There is the
possibility that this site is the baronial stronghold of Kančʽ (or Gantchi). Fındıklı once guarded the strategic road from
Cappadocia to Geben (at the Meryemçil Pass) and Cilicia Pedias.
