Tamrut [Arm: Tʽamprowd; Tʽambrowt] is a strategic castle of Armenian construction with a chapel and 13th-c. dedicatory inscription.  It is located at the west end of the Vale of Karsantı and guarded the roads to Milvan and Cilicia Pedias.
