Anahşa is
a large garrison fortress in the Taurus Mts., primarily of Armenian
construction. Its irregular circuit
walls are protected by horseshoe-shaped towers and the three impressive gates
defend the carefully defined baileys.
This site was positioned above the Çakıt Valley to guard the strategic
route from Cappadocia and Pozantı to Milvan and Cilicia Pedias.
