Evciler is
a Byzantine garrison fortress with a keep, a rectangular circuit wall, and one
conspicuous round tower. It once guarded
a road through the Taurus Mts. between Cappadocia and the Mediterranean
Sea. It is located northeast of the
Hetʽumid stronghold at Çandır (Papeṙōn).
