Bostan refers to two sites: Bostan Köy / Marangeçele, which was an isolated late antique, Byzantine, and Armenian settlement (probably a monastery), and Bostan / Ergenuşaği a fortress tentatively identified with the medieval Copitar [Arm: Kopitaṙ, Gobidar, Itl: Colidara], which was built by Armenians to guard the roads from Sis and the Vale of Karsantı to Vahga and Cappadocia.
