Pillar of Jonah
[Arab: Sakaltoutan; Itl: La Portella] is a watchtower and toll
station, probably of antique construction with periods of Byzantine, Armenian,
and Crusader occupation. It guarded the
strategic north-south highway connecting Cilicia Pedias to Antioch and Syria
via the Belen Pass.
